BioAssist S.A. is a Greek ICT services company providing advanced home care services for elderly and chronic patients. By combining innovative technologies, BioAssist services aim to improve the quality of life of elderly people and people with chronic conditions by supporting their independent living. The company platform offers modern communication and networking features, real-time medical monitoring, and 24-hour monitoring and emergency response mechanisms. At the same time, the company’s services encourage the compliance of elderly and chronic patients with their treatment, while providing a sense of security to themselves and their families.
The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) was established in 1984, as an Independent Academic Institute (initially under the name Institute of Chemical engineering and High Temperature Chemical Processes). In 1987 ICE-HT became one of the founding Institutes of FORTH (Foundation for Research and Technology, Hellas). FORTH comprises eight Research Institutes (5 in Heraklion, 1 in Rethymnon, 1 in Chania, and 1 in Patras) and has been classified in all previous research assessments as “the first Research Centre in the whole of Greece”. FORTH reports directly to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs. The six Research Institutes of FORTH cooperate creatively as an integrated network for RTD.
The “Intelligent Computing Systems” (EMC) workshop aims at developing computational models and their effective implementation, aiming at discovering knowledge, producing conclusions and retrieving information. The core of our research lies in the intersection of the scientific areas of Informatics, Mathematics and Statistics, and focuses on applications in medicine, industry, social sciences, and the economy. Research interests include new Artificial Neural Networking and Mechanical Learning algorithms, study of new Evolutionary Algorithms, Development of Grouping Algorithms, Parallel and Distributed Calculations, Knowledge Mining from Large Volume Data, Applications in Biomedical Technology and specifically Image and Multimedia Technology and Text and Images on the Internet.
The company (“Olympion SA Patras”) was established in May 1999 and is based in Patras. It consists of a general clinic and two recovery and rehabilitation Centers (“R.R.C.”). The company is the only private hospital in both Achaia and Overall in the Region of Western Greece, a total capacity of 335 beds and has the ability to provide patients with integrated health services, as well as the most modern recovery and rehabilitation services.
The company (“Olympion Care SA Ioannina”) was established in January 2008 based in Patras. It consists of a recovery and rehabilitation center (“R.R.C.”) which operates in the region of Epirus and specifically in Pedini Ioannina. The Company is the only private rehabilitation and rehabilitation Center in Nea Ioannina as well as in the region of Epirus with a total capacity of 99 beds and has the potential to provide its patients with the most modern rehabilitation and rehabilitation services.
In the two R.R.C. all the legally planned workshops are developed and operate with the most modern equipment of high standards from the most integrated in Europe, unique in the city and in Western Greece. The purpose of these centers is to offer specialized recovery and rehabilitation services to people with kinetic disabilities or diseases (paraplegia, hemiplegia, multiple sclerosis, etc.), either from injuries (traffic, sports injuries, accidents at work). Also, in patients after orthopedic interventions, neurosurgical, cardiac surgery, etc., as well as diseases, including respiratory, rhythmic system and mental deprivation.
